Within the PHI group of LIDYL and in connection with the other scientists of the group, the recruited person will carry out a specific high-level experimental scientific activity, exploiting the advantages of the UHI100 platform of LIDYL, without excluding the use of other experimental platforms. , and in particular PW type installations in France or abroad. This experimental activity will be able to rely on solid support from the team of numerical experts from the PHI group for all the predictive part of the experimental results, and/or their interpretations. The recruited scientist will actively build research projects in response to national and European calls for tenders in order to ensure the financing of his scientific activity and to contribute to maintaining the best level and/or the evolution of the platform. UHI100. In this perspective, he/she will be able to forge links with the national and international scientific communities concerned and with the various industrial players in the field. He/she will actively participate in the scientific life of the group and in the training of young scientists (trainees, doctoral students and post-doctoral students). He/she will place his/her work within the framework of the CEA’s missions.
The duties of the post holder are as follows:
– Develop an original experimental scientific activity of very high level in the field of ultra-high intensity laser-matter interaction which exploits not only the performance of the UHI100 laser platform but also that of other advanced laser facilities (Apollon, ELI-ERIC, CoReLS, …).
– Respond to national and international calls for tenders in order to help ensure the sustainability of funding for scientific activity.
– Develop national and international collaborations.
– Work within the framework of the CEA’s missions and in conjunction with other research organisations.
– Actively participate in the scientific life of the group and in the supervision and training activities of young students, PhD students and non-permanent researchers.
Candidate profile
The candidate should have a good experience of ultra-high intensity laser-matter interaction on one or more laser installations of multi TW class or higher power.
The candidate must have a doctoral thesis in the physics of laser-matter interaction.
He/she must be a motivated, passionate, responsive experimental physicist.
The candidate must have a taste for teamwork, have good writing and communication skills in English and know how to ensure the visibility of his activity on an international scale.
