The successful applicant will join the CAEN spectroscopy division as Field Application Specialist.

Requirements:
- Master or other advanced scientific and technical degree (PhD)
- Proven experience in simulation of particle detectors and characterization with MCNP code
- Experience in R&D of radiological sensors with a specific focus on gamma and neutron sensors based on scintillators or semiconductor detectors
- Radiation detectors, their applications and characterization (resolution, energy calibration, efficiency calculation)
- Use of electronic instruments like oscilloscopes, pulse generators, etc..
- Basic knowledge on analogic electronic circuits (front end and signal acquisition and analysis)
- Intermediate level for oral and written English and Italian
- Develop and maintain teaming relationship and work in international teams
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally with travels weekly long
Relational and organization skills, flexibility, problem solving and good team communication will complete the profile.
Preferential requirements:
- Degree in Physics (preferred), Nuclear engineering, Electric engineering
- Experience working in projects and programs
- Knowledge of gamma spectrometry and related applications will be an asset
- Experience on electronics for the detector readout and signal acquisition at high rates
- Knowledge on communication protocols and their software integration (TCP/IP, RS232, I2C, LORA, etc..)
- Proficient writing reports and technical documents
- Other languages are an asset
Desired requirements:
- Software skills: intermediate level in programming languages (C++, Java, Phyton)
- Simulation with Geant4 could also be an asset
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment,
- Planning & organization skills, with the ability to manage projects in parallel
- Problem solving and creative skills
