Description of the offer
Formulation and characterization engineer of vitreous materials in the context of renewable energies
The LFCM develops packaging glasses, in particular for the packaging of high-level nuclear waste from the reprocessing of spent fuel (La Hague plant). In parallel, non-nuclear activities taking advantage of the skills of the laboratory in terms of knowledge of glass, their formulation and their behavior at temperature in particular, have been developed.
Your mission: to develop glass gaskets for High Temperature Electrolysers (EHT) for hydrogen production. With a view to making production systems more reliable, new innovative formulations must be developed.
These formulations must have chemical, thermal, fluidic and electrical characteristics at high temperature compatible with the numerous constraints of use of sealing materials required for electrolyzers.
For the formulation and characterization of this type of material, an iterative approach will be implemented. A review of the specifications of the material in its specific conditions of use will be carried out prior to a bibliographical search to preselect several families of glass able to meet them. The mainly experimental work will consist of the development and characterization of the physico-chemical properties of the materials. The composition of the glasses will then be refined in order to comply as closely as possible with the specifications of the specifications.
This project is in collaboration with the Technological Research Department of CEA Grenoble.
Position based mainly at the CEA/ISEC in Marcoule. Missions to CEA/LITEN Grenoble will also be carried out: occasionally at the start of the mission and certainly a stay in Grenoble at the end of the mission in order to test the material developed on models representative of the operating conditions of the electrolysers.
Come and strengthen the laboratory team working on the EHT project, with strong scientific and technical expectations, APPLY!
You will support the development and characterization of materials and will be required to synthesize its results in the form of presentations and technical reports.
Joining the CEA means:
– being part of a research, development and innovation framework with a unique culture, heritage and facilities with a spirit of responsibility and sustainability.
– be offered career prospects and a considerable range of possibilities; with in particular more than 60 job families, the CEA makes it possible to envisage a rich and varied career path.
– join a company concerned with reconciling personal life and professional life: QVT agreement, telework
Candidate profile
Diploma: bac+5 in materials
Experience: 1 to 2 years
Technical skills: Materials, microstructural characterizations, glasses, physico-chemical properties
Tools: SEM, rheology, X-ray diffraction, dilatometry
Your team spirit, spirit of synthesis and your sense of communication are all assets to succeed in this position.
Do you want to work on unique projects? Do you share our values of responsibility, honesty, creativity? Join us!
In accordance with the commitments made by the CEA in favor of the integration of people with disabilities, this job is open to everyone.
