Your tasks
The search for the muon electric dipole moment is searching for a signal of beyond- Standard-Model physics. You will setup and work on a precursor experiment demonstrating novel techniques and deploying for the first time the frozen-spin method.
You will study and design the electric field electrodes inside the solenoid to experimental demonstrate the frozen-spin technique. For this, you will:
- Study and design the electric field and the cylindrical electrode system
- You will program the control software and integrate it into the general DAQ
- You will plan and perform first measurements with the electric field to demonstrate the frozen spin technique
- Participate and contribute to all aspects of the new experimental apparatus
Your profile
We seek a talented and ambitious candidate who is highly motivated to work on this innovative project in a newly founded research team and within an international collaboration.
