Job Description
Your tasks
This position is an opportunity at the intersection of science and arts aiming to recover cultural heritage, in particular sound recorded on magnetic tape. You will join an interdisciplinary team to develop an X-ray readout technique in a BRIDGE Discovery innovation project supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation and Innosuisse.
- Apply X-ray spectroscopy techniques of magnetic materials at international synchrotron facilities to develop a reliable readout technology
- Participation in the development of an experimental endstation and of X-ray optics
- Contribution to measurement software and/or data analysis
- Collaboration with academic and industrial partners
- Publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences and workshops
Your profile
- You hold a PhD degree in natural sciences or engineering
- You have hands-on experience with scientific instrumentation development
- You have experience with X-ray spectroscopy techniques
- You have knowledge and experience in project management of academic research
- You are innovative and have an entrepreneurial mindset
- You have excellent written and spoken English language skills
