Safety engineer or specialist for occupational safety (d/m/f)

The GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt operates one of the leading particle accelerator facilities for science. In the next few years, the new facility FAIR ( Facility for Antiproton and I on Research ), one of the largest research projects worldwide, will be built in international cooperation. GSI and FAIR offer the opportunity to work in this international environment with a team of employees who are committed to doing world-class science on a daily basis.

For the staff department “Leading SiFa” we are looking for a*n as soon as possible

Your tasks:

  • Support according to ASiG / DGUV regulation 2
  • Carrying out risk assessments and risk analyzes for the planning of research projects and of complex plants and work systems
  • Supporting and accompanying specialist departments and planners in the development of safety concepts, e.g. for new experimental setups and systems
  • Assessment, advice and review with regard to the design of workplaces, work processes and the work environment
  • Advice on experiments and implementation of safety-related experiment approvals.

 

Your profile:

  • Completed degree (Diploma (FH) or B.Sc./B.Eng.) in a natural science or engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • training as a specialist for occupational safety or as a safety engineer
  • If possible, several years of professional experience in the field of occupational safety
  • Ideally, further qualifications and experience in the officer system (e.g. hazardous substances, fire protection, water protection, waste) or in the area of ​​company health management
  • good MS Office skills
  • Readiness for further training/further qualification
  • Ability to work in a team, good communication skills and good written and spoken German and English skills.

 

We offer an interesting and varied job in an internationally renowned research institution. The position is permanent. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD (Bund).
